Research published in the journal Nature Communications, in January 2018; shows that short-chain fatty acids (SCFA), found in saturated fats like ghee and also generated by good gut bacteria working on fiber from your diet, orders the DNA chains in the cell walls of your gut. This ordering (via crotonylation) of the DNA, helps your genes properly regulate your cell metabolism (energy, longevity). SCFAs help prevent leaky gut syndrome, reduce inflammation (immune system), and have a positive impact on brain function.

In a recent paper published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Internal Medicine, UCSF researchers reveal a scheme in which the sugar industry’s main trade group paid two Harvard scientists to conduct a research review study, in the mid-1960s to deflect emerging evidence that linked sugar consumption to risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
These biased researchers found “no doubt” that reducing dietary cholesterol and substituting polyunsaturated fat for saturated fat would prevent heart disease. Not all fats are created equal.............

Sorry, but the seed/nut/vegetable oils you have been told to use (like sunflower seed oil) oxidize and become unhealthy at cooking temperatures. The UCSF research was based on internal industry documents unearthed by lead author Cristin Kearns, who found the information in public archives.
In 2015, Dr. Kearns and her UCSF co-authors also published a paper in the scientific journal PLOS Medicine that showed the sugar industry deflected research that linked sugar consumption to dental cavities.
In another damning example of research bias, a paper published in 2016 in the British Medical Journal; exposed a 40-year old cover-up. Data which showed that for every 30 point drop in total cholesterol, there was a 22 percent increased chance of death, was never published -- until the raw data was discovered recently in the basement of one of the original researchers. The coleader of the project was Dr. Ancel Keys, the most prominent advocate of replacing saturated fat with vegetable fat.
Unfortunately the sugar industry is NOT ALONE in biasing research in its favor. Also about 50 years ago, the tobacco industry fought tooth-and-nail to "prove scientifically" that smoking was safe.
